Some of the ongoing initiatives include a project on developing a Biocultural Protocol for the Yaaku Community in partnership with the Ogiek Peoples Development Program (OPDP) and Sengwer Indigenous Peoples Program (SIPP). The Yaaku are also working with a linguistic expert to assist in documenting the Yiakunte dialect
